Explore eBonz interfaces and find out how we can design an interface to meet your needs

Welcome to the eBonz interfaces

The following eBonz interfaces only work through the firefox web browser and require the zinc plugin to be installed. Instructions for the installation are on the right. You will need to login/register to access the interfaces.

To view the eBonz functionality without having to install software, go to the showcase section of this site.

Anatomical Leg Anatomy

Investigate the anatomy of the lower limbs using this interface. Layers can be peeled away and information on different structures can be viewed. This interface is perfect for learning anatomy.

Knee Knee Mechanics

Zoom in on the knee and visualize the change in contact pressure as varus/valgus angle and weight are changed. This interface is perfect for demonstrating to patients how small changes can have a big result.

Gait Gait Analysis

Visualize a patient-specific model through the gait cycle from any angle. Track the knee to see how contact pressure changes on the tibia during walking. Use this interface to study gait patterns and plan surgeries.

Installation Instructions

Step 1: Download & install Firefox

You need Firefox version 3.6.3 to run the interfaces. If you do not already have this version installed you can download it here, and follow the prompted installation instructions. If you need additional help, you can view the firefox installation instructions for windows.

Step 2: Download & install zinc plugin for Firefox

You need zinc version 0.6.4.4 to run the interfaces which you can download here. Please remember to download this using the Firefox web browser. A warning message may appear at the top of your browser saying "Firefox prevented this site from asking you to install software on this computer" - you need to select allow. A popup window will then appear for the installation of the zinc add-on. Select install. Once it has installed you will need to restart firefox to complete the update. If you have any issues, consult the installation instructions on the zinc website.

Step 3: Modify configuration file

Once you have installed firefox and zinc you will need to change a configuration file to enable privileges for some of the extension's functionality to work. Type about:config in the firefox web browser address bar. At the top of the page is a box that says filter. In this box type "signed" and press enter to search for the preference name "signed.applets.codebase_principal_support". If this value is set to false, double click it to change its value to true.

Step 4: Trial the interfaces

You can now select one of the interfaces below to explore eBonz functionality. Please note that some of the interfaces can take a while to load all the models so patience is required on slow connections.
